ABOUT ME

My name is Brook and I like to cook! I'm currently a senior in college majoring in Food Science and Technology. I have been passionate about food and cooking since I was a little girl and I especially love to bake. When I was in middle school, I struggled with body image and gave in to diet culture. I tried many attempts at "dieting" and working out but nothing ever stuck. In high school this behavior continued until I eventually found myself in a constant cycle of binging and restricting. When I was 16 I came across the vegan diet and, despite being a big meat-lover, decided to give it a try. At first, I only wanted to do it because it seemed like the answer to all of my diet problems. I thought that I would no longer have to restrict my calories as long as I was eating a whole-foods plant-based diet. However, when I researched more about why people "go vegan", I realized that it is not just another fad diet, but it is a system of beliefs that I personally align with. I have been on a plant-based diet ever since. I'm not an activist and it is not my intention to turn anyone vegan, however I do believe that everyone can benefit from eating more plant-based meals. I always get asked about what I eat so I decided to start sharing my meals and recipes online. A plant-based diet doesn't have to be expensive and over the top, the best place to start is with wfdhole plant ingredients with a few processed products mixed in.
